Eight Malawian FIFA referees are expected to leave the country on Thursday and Friday respectively to officiate Confederation of African Football (CAF) matches in Botswana and Zambia on Saturday.
Anthony Raphael, Jones Chimeza, Victor Nkhata and Jones Makhuwira will officiate the CAF Club Champions League match between Zambia’s Zanaco FC and Mbabane FC from Swaziland in Lusaka whereas Dennis Nguluwe, Kelvin Ngolanga, Clemence Kanduku and Duncan Lengani will officiate a Confederations Cup match involving Botsawana’s Gaborone United and Mozambique’s Club Desportivo de Malcumana.
The development is a consolation to Malawi whose referees missed on the list to officiate at the just ended 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
