Bullets cannot beat us 10-0 says Lions coach: Malawi TNM Super League

Red Lions coach Collins Nkuna has laughed off the suggestions that his team can lose 10-0 to Big Bullets, saying the Zomba based military outfit is equally looking for a win against the ‘people’s team’ to secure the fourth position.

Bullets have a mathematical chance of snatching the TNM Super League title from under Silver’s nose if they beat Red Lions by a 10-goal margin while hoping that their arch-rivals Mighty Wanderers defeat Silver Strikers.

Should Wanderers score more goals against Silver, Bullets will not need to hit all the 10 goals against the soldiers from the old capital as Silver’s goal difference will have been reduced significantly.

The central bankers boast of an impressive goal difference of 38 against Bullets’ 28. They lead the league’s standings with 58 points from 27 games, three points ahead of the second placed Bullets.

Red Lions coach Collins Nkuna: We will not allowed to be shot 10 times

Commenting on the possibility of his side losing by a 10-goal margin against Bullets, Lions coach Collins Nkuna laughed off the suggestions  and went on to congratulate Silver for winning the championship.

“We cannot lose 10-0 against Bullets. As people as talking of the 10-goal margin, we are thinking of beating Bullets to secure our fourth position and get something at the end of the season,” said
Nkuna, whose side currently occupies the fourth position with 46 points from 27 games.

Wanderers are fifth with 45 points from 26 games and can pip the soldiers to the fourth position if they claim at least four points from their remaining two fixtures against Mafco and Silver.

Bullets chairman Malinda Chinyama and his general secretary Higer Mkandawire differed on the possibility of the team clashing Red Lions by a 10-goal margin.

Chinyama was straightforward in congratulating Silver for retaining the title but Mkandawire insisted that everything was possible in football.
