Mlimbika doesn’t want to leave Mighty Wanderers for Malawi champs Silver

Mlimbika: I want to remain a Wanderers player

Mighty Wanderers lion-heartened left back, Francis Mlimbika, who is reportedly being chased by champions Silver Strikers has told Nyasa Times his heart is with the Nomads and doubts the move to Lilongwe.

According to Nyasa Times investigations, the Bankers want to feature the player next weekend during the GOTV Challenge Cup game in Lilongwe against Big Bullets and were expecting him on Saturday to finalise his deal.

But Mlimbika told Nyasa Times: “Silver are indeed seeking for my services but it is a hard decision to make for me because my heart is with Wanderers. I love this team, the fans and my blood is blue.”

Last week Nsundwe United Team manager Fanuel Mateyo accused Wanderers of failing to settle K500,000 which they were offered to buy the player four seasons ago.

Mateyo said they have resolved to discuss with Silver Strikers on a possible move to rope in the talented left back from the Nomads camp.

“Wanderers have breached our agreement and in so doing we are taking our player back. They promised to pay our money last Friday once they receive their K2 million from TNM for finishing fourth in the League. We feel being cheated now because up to now we have not heard anything from Wanderers,” said Mateyo.

However, Mighty Wanderers general secretary David Kanyenda quashed Nsundwe’s claims and challenged the Mchinji district based out-fit to seek Super League of Malawi (Sulom) intervention  to recover their money since Mlimbika belongs to them.

“How can Nsundwe discuss with Silver on a player who belongs to us. If Silver want the player let them approach us,” said Kanyenda.
