Nation Publications Limited (NPL) online editor Elizabeth Lisuntha Banda has died at the age of 36.
A family member of the journalist said she died Friday afternoon.
She was reportedly admitted at Mwaiwathu last week where she was treated of anemia.
Banda was discharged but died suddenly at Blantyre’s Chitawira Private Hospital (Gombwa) .

“She sent her maid to town, when the maid got back home, she found that she had collapsed and took her to nearby Gombwa clinic where she was prounced dead,” said a family member.
NPL deputy chief executive officer Alfred Ntonga confirmed and said the workers at the media house were “ very devastated. ”
Ntonga said late Lisuntha Banda had “unique skills and a warm character.”
Friends of Liz described her as one of most humble journalist.
They said she widely respected by those who worked with her – not just for her news judgement but also for her principles and morals.
“If there were few remaining good people in this world, Liz was one of them. She was a woman of principals and stuck by them,” said one journalist in Blantyre.
Banda hailed from Siwambala village, T/A Kaomba in Kasungu District.
People are gathering at her brother’s house in Manase Township, on the right turn from Blantyre after South End School. A single mother, 36, Elizabeth is survived by a daughter.
Funeral arrangements are still being made.
