Prophet Bushiri lies about Bentley purchase

Controversial Prophet Shepherd Bushiri on Wednesday put up a post on Facebook claiming that a member of his ministry based in South Africa had bought him a Bentley Hunaudieres.

Bushiri even posted a purported picture of the car in question, a 1999 green model of the Bentley which costs around $350,000.

In the post, Bushiri stated that the new vehicle would help with the ministry, which is hugely popular in Malawi and is gaining ground in South Africa.

However, investigations by Nyasa Times have revealed Prophet Bushiri’s claim as fake.

For a start, the picture that he posted was copied from the website http://supercar.menexpert.net/2011/06/16/bentley-hunaudieres/

An exact image of the car can also be viewed at http://www.autotita.com/bentley/bentley-hunaudieres

Secondly, the Bentley Hunaudieres was never released by the company.

Bentley Hunaudieres

The Bentley Hunaudieres prototype was created for 1999 Geneva motorshow. The Hunaudieres, which was based on a modified Lamborghini Diablo VT chassis was powered by a W16 Volkswagen engine making 620 bhp driving all four wheels.

The Hunaudieres concept was intended to test the water to see how close to an all out sports car Bentley could feasibly create, without compromising the brand’s identity.

The concept, along with the similar Audi Rosemeyer, lead to the production of the Bugatti Veyron by parent Volkswagen.

Efforts by Nyasa Times to speak to Prophet Bushiri proved futile as he is reportedly on a ministering mission in Pretoria, South Africa.

The post by Bushiri instantly drew some comments, with some people questioning how the car would move the ministry forward. Most of the people who posted were clearly annoyed by the Prophet’s efforts to be showy which led to Bushiri pulling down the post.

This is not the first time that Bushiri’s posts have garnered the man of God some bad publicity.

Early this year, he claimed an American couple had bought a jet for his ministry. Up to date, the airplane is yet to be seen.

The youthful prophet was also in the news early this year after a Mzuzu-based lady claiimed he had made her pregnant.

Prophet Bushiri is married. e denounced the charges, claiming e devil was using some people to destroy him. However, over the past week, images of the baby have started circulating on Facebook, and placed alongside the Prophet, the likeness cannot be mistaken.
