A 17-year-old Wakhumbachi ‘Chichi’ Kaluwa is the winner for the E-Wallet Talent Show, Malawi’s own version of the Pop Music Idols.
The Blantyre-based up-and-coming singer was announced winner during the grand finale held at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre Saturday night.
She beat other top three finalists Guise Pemba and Tawonga Kanthungo.
Wakhumbachi walked away with a grand prize of K0.5 million and a recording deal, courtesy of E-Wallet and MultiChoice Malawi, respectively.

She was escatic after being named the winner and could not immediately compose herself to grant interview with Nyasa Times.
“Wow. I don’t know what to say,” she said as her mother Isabella Kaluwa hugged her in excitement.
“She is my idol,” screamed the mother.
